We have begun our Reading curriculum.Your child will be bringing home a popcorn container with their first “popcorn word” in it. The reason why they are popcorn words is because…they just keep “popping up” when we read!These words are very important to assist your child in reading. Please be sure to add more popcorn to the container as we learn more popcorn words.Use the popcorn to review word routinely.
We are also beginning letter show and tell (see PDF file below for dates).For each letter(s) that we focus on each week, your child will be able to bring in an object from home that begins with that letter’s sound.For example, for letter S, take a walk around your house with your child.Find objects and sound out the name to help your child decide if it begins with that sound.You might find a spoon, sponge, sock, Scooby Doo, or silly bands.Have fun with it!
